Reports

Academic Reports are sent to parents three times a year. We arrange Parent-Teacher meeting to discuss the progress of their child. We use the school newsletter to inform the parents about these. Parents are always welcome to phone in for additional information.

Support and Guidance

Our approach to discipline is based on motivation and making our students realize that both good and bad behaviour is attached with consequences. While good behaviour is rewarded, poor behaviour is corrected. When a child is detained for bad behaviour, the parent will be given 24 hours to report to the school. Under this circumstance, the reporting of the parent is mandatory and no excuse will be entertained.

Standards of Behaviour

Courtesy, co-operation, consideration for others, and common sense are valued, and expected from our students. Students are expected to respect our rules, wear the uniform well, be punctual and attend the classes regularly. We believe students can learn discipline only  in a disciplined, orderly and safe environment and we do our best to provide them with such an environment. Activities like smoking, consuming alcohol and dealing with illegal drugs are strictly forbidden, and students are expected to respect each other and each other’s property.

Whenever a student outside the school campus brings the school into disrepute by misconduct, the Board of Trustees reserve the right to exercise school discipline. This particularly applies to students on their way to school, from school, and when wearing the school uniform in public.

Attendance and Punctuality

Students need to be at school to make the learning process successful. Parents are expected to assist us in this regard.

Parents will have to phone in on the morning of their child’s absence. This will be accompanied by a signed absence note when the child returns. The absence note to state the following:  name of the child, form, dates of absence and the reason for absence. As far as possible, dental and other medical appointments should be made after school hours.

Parents should take care that their child is present on the first and last days of the term. No request for extension of holidays will be entertained.

If there are valid/ special reasons for a student to be away from school, permission should be obtained well in advance from the Principal. In addition to this, a letter explaining the reason for the absence is expected.

We have programmes to encourage punctuality, and our Deans closely monitor attendance.
